
Lecturer/ UHCL Teach Director

Description
The University of Houston-Clear Lake College of Education invites applications for a 9‑month lecturer and UHCL Teach Director position, starting fall 2026. This position is dedicated to teaching primarily undergraduate mathematical and science education courses and leadership responsibilities of the UHCL TEACH program.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in mathematical and/or science education.
Mentor, advise, and supervise undergraduate students in a variety of settings, which may include serving as an advisor to the UHCL Teach student organization.
Work collaboratively with area public schools and monitor field experience as needed.
Participate and contribute to initiatives in the College of Education and within the program.
Engage in marketing, recruitment, and retention efforts.
Ensure TEA compliance.
Qualifications Required:
Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from an accredited educator preparation program with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate level course credit in mathematics and/or science.
Classroom teaching experience EC‑12.
Texas certified classroom teacher in applicable field.
A minimum of three years of secondary teaching experience (7‑12) in public schools or related settings.
Experience with accredited teacher preparation program.
Preferred:
Earned doctorate with primary emphasis in STEM education and/or related field from an accredited program.
Experience supervising teacher candidates in the field.
Track record of establishing partnerships between or working with school districts and higher education.
