Operate industrial truss saws to cut lumber components used in the fabrication of roof and floor trusses. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety standards to ensure all materials meet exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Operate automated and manual saws to cut wood components according to design specifications and production schedules
Measure and mark materials to ensure accurate cuts
Inspect materials for defects and ensure quality standards are met
Maintain saw equipment, including routine cleaning and minor adjustments
Follow all workplace safety guidelines and procedures
Work closely with truss assemblers and production team members to ensure workflow efficiency
Monitor inventory of lumber and report shortages or issues
Required Skills & Qualifications
Experience operating truss equipment and saws.
Ability to read measuring tools (tape measure, square, etc.) accurately
Basic understanding of construction or framing concepts
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods
Knowledge of workplace safety practices
