Position Summary The Director of Human Resources (People & Culture) is the senior HR leader responsible for driving and executing the company’s people strategy across a multi-property hotel portfolio. This role serves as the primary partner to executive leadership and hotel General Managers, leading all aspects of field HR operations, talent strategy, leadership development, and employee engagement. Based in our Irvine corporate office, this position plays a critical role in building a high-performance culture while ensuring scalable, consistent HR practices across the organization.

Key Responsibilities HR Leadership & Business Partnership

Serve as the primary HR partner to executive leadership and hotel General Managers

Provide strategic guidance on workforce planning, organizational development, and performance management

Lead and develop the corporate HR support team

Oversee recruiting strategy for property leadership roles (GMs, Directors of Sales, department heads)

Strengthen talent pipelines and employer branding

Partner with operations to ensure timely and effective hiring across the portfolio

Design and implement onboarding programs for property leaders and associates

Develop leadership training initiatives to support General Managers and emerging leaders

Support succession planning and internal career growth

Employee Relations & Performance Management

Provide guidance to hotel leadership on employee relations matters, coaching, and performance management

Partner with HR Compliance leadership on investigations and employment decisions

Ensure consistency in disciplinary practices and documentation across all properties

Culture & Engagement

Lead employee engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives

Support a positive and productive work environment across all hotels

HR Systems & Operational Excellence

Ensure effective utilization of HRIS and ATS platforms; preference to experience with ADP Workforce Now (HRIS, payroll, and benefits) and ATS platforms

Drive consistency in HR processes, reporting, and compliance execution across the portfolio

Support the development and implementation of scalable HR programs and tools

Qualifications Experience

5-7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience

Experience supporting multi-state and/or multi-unit operations required

Hospitality industry experience strongly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of employee relations, talent management, and HR operations

Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and best practices (California expertise required)

Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems (strong preference for ADP Workforce Now)

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Additional Requirements

Bachelor’s degree preferred (HR, Business, or related field)

HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM) preferred

bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred

Ability to travel and overnight up to 20% of time
