Position: Community Services Director - Chadron Full-time, Full-year, 40 hours a week – above .75% FTE

Job Summary:

Provide leadership to Community Services support staff which will ensure proper supervision, monitoring and compliance of all policies and procedures including grant guidelines and requirements, upkeep of facilities and general operation of Community Service Programs. Oversight and execution of grant writing as well as research on potential new grants that will help grow and further the program.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the implementation of grant funds and requirements for program operations.

Complete grant applications when needed to maintain current services or to expand services when the opportunity arises and while actively seeking out possible opportunities.

Work with management and prepare and submit the annual Work Plan for Community Service Block Grant.

Develop and maintain budgets for all funding sources.

Become knowledgeable of eligible and non-eligible costs associated with each grant funding source.

Maintain records as required by the administration and funding sources.

Complete all reports that are required by grantees.

Recommend major policy changes to the Chief Executive Officer for improving the effectiveness of existing Community Services programs when applicable.

Understand and interpret the problems and concerns identified by the low-income population as depicted by the Service Navigators.

Ensure that outreach offices are open and accessible to the public.

Participate in the Agency’s Community Needs Assessment process.

Oversee any documentation needed for in‑kind.

Ensure adequate systems are in place to maintain the highest quality of services to clients that we serve.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or a related field

Knowledge in writing grants, developing and implementing programs.

Experience in management, training and supervision of employees.

Must be able to demonstrate strong organizational skills, proactive approaches to leadership and clear, concise communication skills.

Strong skills in conflict resolution, policy interpretation, and adherence to policies, procedures and State/Federal Regulations.

Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable through NCAP vehicle insurance plan with the ability to travel in the service area frequently.

Must clear all background checks.

Pay and Benefits: Starting salary is $48,000 - 52,000 annually depending upon qualifications and experience. Dental, Medical, Vision, FSA, and retirement benefit plans available.
