Associate Social Media Editor, Food & Wine Food & Wine is looking for an Associate Social Media Editor who will primarily oversee our creator network project and community management on our social platforms. The person in this role will also support promotional strategies across the brand’s social media channels—including Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, Threads, Facebook, and X—to drive traffic, engagement, and audience growth. The ideal candidate will be comfortable using data and insights to guide creator outreach, understand how great brands and publishers stand out in feeds, and create engaging posts that deliver results. Hybrid work: 3 days a week in New York, with the ability to work remotely up to 2 days per week. About the Position’s Contributions 30%: Handle day‑to‑day outreach to creators who fit our audience and voice; manage relationships, acquire assets, and develop partnerships; monitor and report on social trends and rising talent. 30%: Authentically engage with followers on our social media platforms and other relevant handles to foster community and engagement; curate content for promotion using data, trends, and insights; report on tests, traffic, and platform metrics (views, engagements, impressions); use insights to contribute to content ideation discussions. 20%: Monitor social and video analytics to inform the brand’s social, site, and video strategy; assist in content planning, creation, and execution for social channels; pitch content ideas and attend editorial planning meetings. 10%: Help execute campaigns around editorial tentpoles and social‑first franchises; work with editorial and design to create custom graphics when relevant for promotion. 10%: Participate in digital video creation and promotion, including brainstorming topics, writing scripts, researching, and appearing on‑screen; liaise with platform partners and communicate platform‑specific needs; handle projects such as photo captions, image resizing, and Reels production. Education Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing, Public Communications, or equivalent professional experience. Experience 1‑2 years of professional experience in social media for a food or lifestyle brand. Experience with Facebook Insights, TrueAnthem, Dash Social, and Looker is strongly preferred. Experience with visual storytelling, basic photo editing, and video production. Experience with and enthusiasm for using analytics tools to create reports and inform decision‑making. Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities Excellent writing skills and editorial judgment; experience writing engaging copy specifically for digital and social media. Strong communication skills and comfort relaying issues, needs, and wins with team members. A love for brainstorming new ideas. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline‑driven environment. Openness to experiment, try new things, and learn new tools and features. Flexibility to be available for social support as needed for special events, which may occur on evenings and weekends. A passion for all things related to food, cooking, and being in the kitchen. A desire to connect with people through social media. A self‑driven attitude; high degree of collaboration, organization, and positivity; the ability to thrive in a fast‑changing environment. The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc.'s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses and short‑ and long‑term incentives.
