Pique, Los Angeles, CA, United States
Position: Video Editor - Performance Creative
Compensation: Top of Industry Compensation & Benefits
Pique is an industry-defining wellness company that operates at the leading edge of performance branding. Our products are grounded in science and nature, our brand is driven by passion and artistry, and our culture is shaped by high performance and individual agency.
Position Overview
We are hiring a Video Editor to become the post-production backbone of our performance creative team. This role is responsible for turning raw footage, UGC, and AI-generated content into high-converting video ads that run at scale across paid social.
You will work directly with our Lead Creative Strategist and Content Producer to take briefs from concept to finished ad — cutting, pacing, and polishing video creative that stops thumbs and drives action. The ads you produce will be our primary growth engine, and your ability to move fast without sacrificing craft will directly impact performance. This role reports to the Lead Creative Strategist.
Responsibilities
Own end-to-end video editing for performance creative — from raw footage and briefs to export-ready ads across all Meta placements (Feed, Reels, Stories).
Cut 15–60 second video ads optimized for thumb-stop: nail the hook in the first 3 seconds, pace for retention, close for conversion.
Edit across multiple formats and styles — UGC, founder story, talking head, text overlay, product demo, mashup, and AI-assisted creative.
Apply motion graphics, text animations, captions, and overlays that enhance without overwhelming. Clean, confident, on-brand.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously with fast turnaround — this is a high-volume environment where 4–8 new video ads per week is the baseline.
Partner closely with the Lead Creative Strategist to understand creative briefs deeply — not just what the ad looks like, but why the concept should work and what the conversion mechanism is.
Bring editorial instinct to every cut — identify the moments in raw footage that weren't in the brief but elevate the ad. The best hooks are often found in the edit, not the shoot.
Participate in weekly creative reviews — share what's working in the edit bay, surface patterns from high-performing cuts, and contribute to the team's creative learning velocity.
Collaborate with the Content Producer to provide feedback on footage quality, shot lists, and what's needed from future shoots to make the edit faster and stronger.
Format & Platform Expertise
Deep fluency in Meta ad specs — aspect ratios (1:1, 4:5, 9:16, 16:9), safe zones, caption placement, and platform-specific best practices.
Stay current on what's performing on paid social — emerging edit styles, trending audio treatments, caption formats, and pacing patterns.
Adapt existing hero cuts into multiple variations and aspect ratios efficiently — one shoot should yield 3–5 ad variations minimum.
Footage & Asset Management
Maintain an organized project file structure — every project export-ready and easy for the next person to pick up.
Build and maintain a library of reusable elements — lower thirds, brand frames, transition presets, audio beds — that accelerate future production.
Ensure all final exports meet Meta's technical specifications and are delivered with correct file naming conventions.
Requirements
4+ years of video editing experience, ideally cutting performance ads for DTC, social, or direct response.
Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro. After Effects proficiency strongly preferred.
A reel that demonstrates range — UGC cuts, polished brand spots, fast-paced social edits, and anything that shows you understand how to edit for conversion, not just aesthetics.
Instinctive understanding of pacing, rhythm, and the psychology of the first 3 seconds. You know what makes someone stop scrolling.
Experience with AI-assisted video tools (Runway, Kling, CapCut, Descript) is a strong plus.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects without dropping quality.
Fast without being sloppy. High-volume output with consistent craft.
Clear, concise communicator who simplifies complexity and drives action.
Enthusiasm for shaping a truth-seeking team culture with a commitment to personal growth and organizational excellence.
