Business Development Business Planning Fundraising Grant Writing Strategic Analysis Published Date Posted April 02, 2026 Youth Development Strategic Guidance on Building a Fundraising and Grants Pipeline * Be the first to apply to this opportunity My goal for this Taproot Project is to build a sustainable fundraising and grant strategy for NexoAfrica, a global platform connecting African and diaspora professionals to opportunities across finance, technology, health, and policy. We are seeking support in developing a structured approach to nonprofit fundraising, including: Identifying and prioritizing relevant grant opportunities (foundations, corporate, and institutional) Creating a grant pipeline and application calendar Drafting core grant language and reusable proposal templates Refining our value proposition for funders and institutional partners Advising on long‑term revenue diversification strategies (grants, partnerships, and program‑based funding) This project will help transition NexoAfrica from early‑stage growth into a more sustainable, fundable organization with clear pathways to scale. Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by helping us unlock the resources needed to scale access to opportunity for African and diaspora professionals. NexoAfrica exists to bridge the gap between talent and access—connecting individuals to careers, capital, mentorship, and global institutions. A strong fundraising and grant strategy will allow us to: Expand our cohort‑based programming across multiple sectors Provide more accessible and subsidized opportunities for participants Build long‑term partnerships with institutions aligned with our mission Increase our reach and impact across diaspora and African communities Ultimately, this project will help transform NexoAfrica from a growing platform into a sustainable ecosystem capable of driving long‑term, scalable impact. My team and I have prepared for this project by developing a clear organizational vision, program structure, and initial partnership base. We have: Built a comprehensive organizational deck outlining our mission, programming, and ecosystem model Established early partnerships with institutions such as universities and global organizations Launched initial programming across multiple sectors (finance, health, etc.) Identified key funding needs and priority areas for growth We will ensure the volunteer has everything needed to be successful, including: Access to all relevant materials (deck, past programming, partnership context) A clear point of contact and consistent communication (weekly check‑ins) Quick feedback cycles on drafts and strategy recommendations Our team is committed to implementing the outputs of this project immediately, particularly in applying for grants and integrating the recommended fundraising strategy into our operations.
