As both an administrator and direct service provider, the Director provides strategic leadership for all registrar functions at UMN Morris, ensuring the integrity of academic records while managing critical student services. The Director balances duties like hands-on degree certification and student advising responsibilities with working with faculty, staff, and executive leadership. This role supervises OTR staff, serves on key institutional committees, and plays a vital part in achieving campus enrollment and retention goals. Reports to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. This person will be on campus in Morris, MN. Key Responsibilities Managing Office of the Registrar (50%) Lead all administrative and operational functions of the Office of the Registrar Supervise and develop OTR staff through performance management and professional development Oversee course scheduling, classroom utilization, and degree audit systems (APAS/DARs) Manage transfer credit articulation, graduation certification, and transcript services Ensure compliance with University policies, FERPA, and accreditation standards Provide campus support for PeopleSoft, DARs, Coursedog, and other academic systems Collaboration and Committee Support (20%) Serve on Morris Scholastic Committee and Curriculum Committee as institutional resource Coordinate ASR Units (Registrar, Financial Aid, Business Office, One Stop) Represent Morris on UMN Systemwide Registrars Council Advise VCAA on curriculum, processes, and registrar functions Maintain professional connections with AACRAO, UMACRAO, COPLAC Degree Certification and Student Services (30%) Review and certify degree completion and graduation eligibility Process degree applications and maintain graduation lists Advise students on academic standing and graduation requirements Coordinate special enrollment programs and reciprocity agreements Manage student petitions, readmissions, and transfer processes Serve as primary customer service contact for registrar functions Maintain records in Perceptive Content per AACRAO standards Qualifications Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution 6 years of progressively responsible experience in higher education or related environment (or 4 years with a Masters) Experience with student information systems and degree audit software and data analysis and reporting for enrollment management Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact effectively with diverse constituencies Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $72,435.33 - $78,800; depending on education/qualifications/experience Time Appointment: 100% Appointment Position Type: P&A Staff The University offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes: Competitive wages, paid holidays, and generous time off Continuous learning opportunities through professional training and degree-seeking programs supported by the Regents Tuition Benefit Program Low-cost medical, dental, and pharmacy plans Healthcare and dependent care flexible spending accounts University HSA contributions Disability and employer-paid life insurance Employee wellbeing program Excellent retirement plans with employer contribution Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) opportunity Financial counseling services Employee Assistance Program with eight sessions of counseling at no cost While our salary ranges provide a framework, it is important to note that most of the time, the initial pay may not reach the maximum of the range.
