Accounting Director
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Director of Accounting to oversee all accounting operations and ensure accurate, compliant financial reporting. Reporting to the VP/Controller, this role provides strategic leadership, develops internal controls, and drives process improvements while managing a high-performing accounting team. Accounting Director Responsibilities
Lead and manage all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger. Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations. Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP. Support monthly financial reviews and address accounting-related inquiries. Develop and maintain internal policies, controls, and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency. Coordinate audit requests and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local reporting requirements. Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning. Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a positive and growth-minded culture. Identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement. Partner with other departments to support organizational goals and initiatives. Accounting Director Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 4+ years in a leadership role. Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards. Proficiency with accounting ERP systems (experience with Sage 100 a plus). Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Proven ability to lead teams and collaborate cross-functionally. Must be an expert-level Excel user. Accounting Director Benefits
