Oversee day-to-day field operations for heavy highway projects, including roadways, bridges, and related infrastructure. Coordinate crews, equipment, and subcontractors to maintain productivity, safety, and adherence to project specifications. Monitor schedules and adjust field activities to keep the project on track and minimize delays. Enforce safety protocols, conduct site inspections, and lead toolbox talks to ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and inspectors to resolve on-site issues and ensure quality control. Track and document daily progress, quantities, and workforce/equipment usage for reporting and cost management. Anticipate resource needs, plan work sequences, and support logistics for materials and equipment delivery. Strong leadership and communication skills to direct diverse teams, coordinate subcontractors, and work closely with project managers, engineers, and inspectors. Deep knowledge of construction methods, plans, and specifications specific to heavy highway work, including grading, paving, structures, utilities, and traffic control. Commitment to safety with experience enforcing OSHA standards, leading safety meetings, and maintaining a zero-incident environment. Skilled in scheduling and planning, able to sequence work, anticipate resource needs, and keep projects on track under tight deadlines. Proficiency with project documentation, including daily reports, quantity tracking, and equipment/workforce logs. Problem-solving mindset, able to quickly address field challenges, adjust plans, and maintain productivity.
