The Huntsville Item is HIRING! Position: Editor Huntsville, Texas The Huntsville Item seeks an accomplished journalism leader for our top newsroom position. The editor is responsible for news and opinion content for our twice weekly newspaper, seven-day website, magazine and other niche publications. We need someone to take charge of a small but ambitious newsroom and lead us to stories that will reach through a newspaper or computer screen and grab readers' attention. Our goal is to deliver valuable news and information to our readers in new and exciting ways. Previous community newspaper experience is essential. Experience with web and multimedia journalism is preferred. Leadership and management skills are a must, as is knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, page layout and design. Huntsville is the seat of Walker County and the home of Sam Houston State University. The city is located in east Texas, 70 miles north of Houston.
