Finance Director Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on, strategic Finance Director to build and lead the regional finance function. Reporting directly to the North America CEO (with dotted-line exposure to global finance leadership), this individual will act as both: A roll-up-your-sleeves accounting leader deeply involved in day-to-day operations A strategic advisor and thought partner to the CEO during a high-growth phase This is not a large corporate, highly layered environment. The regional structure is lean, and the successful candidate must be comfortable operating in both detailed execution and executive-level strategy. The current team includes a Financial Controller and Accounting support based internationally, with plans to gradually build a small regional team over time. Key Responsibilities Strategic Partnership Serve as financial architect and trusted advisor to the CEO Provide independent perspective and constructive challenge in executive decision-making Support market expansion analysis across Canada, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean Lead financial modeling, capital planning, and growth strategy evaluation Financial & Operational Leadership Oversee accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Manage multi-entity and cross-border operations Direct tax strategy, compliance, and external audit processes Lead banking relationships, treasury management, and foreign currency exposure Support acquisitions, due diligence, and new market entry initiatives Systems & Infrastructure Lead SAP implementation and establish scalable reporting systems Build internal controls and governance frameworks appropriate for rapid growth Develop a lean but high-performing finance organization Hands-On Execution Engage directly in accounting operations, exports, foreign currency, and regional tax considerations Ensure accurate and timely monthly reporting, KPI analysis, and executive dashboards Ideal Candidate Profile CPA required 510+ years of experience at Controller level or above Background in lubricants, oil & gas, energy distribution, or related industrial sectors strongly preferred Experience in entrepreneurial or mid-sized organizations (not solely large multinationals) Direct SAP implementation experience required Strong understanding of cross-border finance and international expansion Bilingual Spanish highly preferred Willingness to travel as needed Leadership Characteristics The ideal candidate is: Highly hands-on and detail-oriented Strategic but not removed from execution Comfortable operating in a lean environment Independent thinker willing to challenge assumptions Self-motivated, loyal, and growth-oriented Interested in building long-term value and evolving into a future CFO-level role HOUWD51
