The In-Room Dining Order Taker is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests by efficiently managing telephone orders for in-room dining services. This role involves taking guest orders, ensuring accuracy, promoting menu items, and processing orders for timely delivery. The Order Taker must maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while delivering excellent customer service. Roles and Responsibilities
Core functions of the position, but are not limited to the following: Answer telephone calls from guests promptly and courteously. Assist guests in placing orders, providing recommendations, and addressing inquiries about the menu. Accurately record guest orders, special requests, and dietary preferences. Confirm orders with guests to ensure accuracy and completeness, Input orders into the POS (Point of Sale) system for efficient preparation and delivery. Maintain a thorough understanding of the menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation. Make menu suggestions to enhance the guest experience and upsell where appropriate. Collaborate with the kitchen and service staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of orders. Communicate any special guest requests or instructions to the kitchen and service teams. Handle payment transactions accurately and securely. Conduct quality checks on orders to ensure they meet the required standards before delivery. Address and resolve any guest concerns or issues related to their orders. Maintain accurate records of orders, guest information, and billing details. Generate reports as needed for management and billing purposes. Keep the workstation clean, organized, and well-maintained. Ensure all necessary supplies, including menus and order forms, are readily available. Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in a customer service or telephone sales role is preferred, Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with food and beverage menus and offerings. Proficiency in using computer systems, POS software, and telephone systems. Ability to handle cash and process payments accurately. Excellent attention to detail and multitasking abilities. Physical Requirements
