Video Storyteller Internship
At MGB Springboard Studio, we believe healthcare should be designed around the people it serves. As the design impact studio within Mass General Brigham, our mission is simple: to make healthcare more user-friendly. Through design thinking, we work alongside patients, clinicians, and staff to co-create practical, human-centered solutions that improve care experiences, outcomes, and equity. From reimagining clinical workflows to designing better tools for frontline teams, we bring creativity, empathy, and experimentation to some of healthcare's biggest challenges.
Project Overview: We are seeking a skilled Video Storyteller with experience in video editing to collaborate closely with our Junior and Senior Designer on a series of 56-minute videos. As part of our Design Impact Awards program, we are creating a collection of videos showcasing the progress of our Alumni cohort, where their projects are now, more than a year after presenting at our culminating Demo Day event. We are currently gathering raw footage through interviews with all six alumni teams. The Video Storyteller will transform this material into a set of compelling videosone for each teamthat captures their core story and impact of their work. This internship will also include visibility into all of the Springboard Studio's work to experience the intersection of design thinking and healthcare.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Currently enrolled in college-level coursework (rising sophomore, junior, or senior preferred)
Experience
- Experience in video editing, graphic/visual design, multimedia, illustration, or any other relevant design/art field
- Interest in healthcare innovation and using design to improve healthcare experiences
Skills/Abilities/Competencies
- Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Experience with After Effects or motion graphics preferred.
- Strong understanding of video codecs, formats, and resolutions.
- Audio editing and sound design basics
- Color correction and grading skills
- Attention to detail with a keen eye for visual storytelling.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Good time management skills.
- Strong oral communication skills.
- Ability to take and follow direction.
- Willingness to learn.
- Open-minded, flexible, collaborative, and self-motivated
Working Schedule
- Remote, optional onsite presence at 399 Revolution Drive, Somerville, MA
- Duration: June 2026 until August 2026 (flexible start/end dates)
- Remote hours requires a quiet, secure, HIPAA-compliant working station during eastern standard business hours
