Job Summary

The Senior Revenue Analyst performs a wide array of analysis, contract review, reporting, and accounting tasks to support the accounting and administration division. The job entails working with numerous complex billing processes related to high volume transactions and various pricing models. The incumbent will have a working knowledge of revenue recognition and its impact on monthly revenue.

Responsibilities

Customer contract management

  • Master key financial terms and conditions by product (e.g. billing rate structures and other financial terms)
  • Interpret contract revisions/amendments for impact on billing and revenue recognition
  • Ability to effectively perform contract research and resolve contract disputes
  • Operationalize revenue and billing processes for new product terms and conditions

Revenue recognition

  • Ability to research and properly identify the revenue recognition model for each product
  • Create and maintain revenue recognition policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain product specific template or other tools to serve standard operating procedures
  • Based on evaluation/reconciliation of monthly billing activity against contractual terms, estimate and record monthly required accruals to properly reflect revenue and deferred revenue

Billing

  • Set up initial billing rate tables
  • Ensure billing rate tables are up to date
  • Maintain customer accounts in the general ledger
  • Receive, review and process monthly product billing files
  • Initiate and ensure proper execution of monthly automated invoicing process
  • Gather required inputs, perform calculation and create product level manual invoices

Account receivable management

  • Develop monthly A/R aging report
  • Engage customers directly to address outstanding amounts and/or other billing issues
  • Keep account management update to date on customer balances
  • Review and maintain bad debt reserve at least quarterly
  • Process voids and credit memos
  • Ensure cash is applied to the appropriate customer and invoice

Analysis

  • Perform analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual revenue trends by product - actual to actual and budget to actual
  • Explore for known rate changes, volume triggers and contract revisions
  • Leveraging implementation summary, ensure proper recognition/deferral of associated revenue
  • Perform adhoc research/analysis as needed

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in related, progressive roles
  • Experience in high transactional automated billing systems
  • Experience reviewing customer contracts
  • Advanced Excel skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Great Plains accounting system experience
  • Experience converting and implementing billing systems

At Surescripts, base pay is one part of our Total Rewards Package (which may also include bonus, benefits etc.) and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this position is $98,900 - $120,900 per year. Your base pay may vary within or outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including (but not limited to) your qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
