As a Senior Customer Executive I, you will oversee our Meat, Dairy, Deli, Food Service and Fresherized Refrigerated Portfolio at Wakefern. This Role is responsible for $19.5MM and 5 MM lbs in sales annually. This role involves crafting, implementing, and executing strategic sales and distribution plans for Wakefern's refrigerated brands. You will play a pivotal role in mentoring PDPs and Interns, as well as manage two broker partners that support our Meat, Dairy & Fresherized Refrigerated Businesses. This offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of Wakefern's Refrigerated Portfolio while contributing to the growth and success of the team.

  • Strategic Planning and Execution: Collaborate with the Customer Business Manager, Sales Strategy, & our Broker Partner team to create and execute annual sales plans that align with operational objectives. Engage in regular discussions with Wakefern to devise mutually beneficial strategies for achieving profitable sales.
  • Account Management: Identify and assess trends and opportunities affecting net sales, market share, trade effectiveness, and overall profitability. Communicate insights and strategic recommendations to the Customer Business Manager.
  • Operational Alignment: Ensure that distribution, shelving, merchandising, and pricing (DSMP) objectives are effectively met. Analyze data from the category analytics team and sales team to drive actionable insights for Hormel brands.
  • Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to Early Careers Team Members & Interns, fostering their professional development and enhancing team performance.
  • In Person Meetings: Be prepared to meet with Wakefern Category Managers at their Keasbey & Elizabeth, NJ offices 1-2 days per week, depending on customer needs. Also, working with the owner groups in the Co-op to grow Top 8, Next Source of Growth and Maintenance Brands.
  • Customer Partnerships: Continue to maintain and develop new partnerships with the Wakefern Category teams, Directors, Co-op members and cross-functional teams.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1.5 years of sales/marketing/sales strategy experience.
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to identify and apply business analytics.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a variety of complex projects.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • Ability to lead and influence others to execution.

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of sales/marketing/sales strategy experience.
  • Experience working with Wakefern HQ.
  • Perishable Foods experience.

Location: Bethlehem Sales Office, Bethlehem PA

A comprehensive relocation package to the Bethlehem, PA area will be offered, if required.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for the Senior Customer Executive I role is between $91,550 -$128,175 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
