Merchants Insurance Group is a leading Property and Casualty Insurer in the Northeast and is looking for a Property Claim Adjuster to join our Corporate Claims team located in Buffalo, New York.
Hybrid Work Schedule
Merchants offers a hybrid work schedule that requires 2 full days per week in the office, with the option to work the remaining days at home or in the office.
The Property Claim Adjuster will become part of a dedicated claims team focusing on Commercial Property claims. This position interacts extensively with home office technical managers, internal colleagues as well as policyholders, agents, attorneys, appraisers, and a multitude of claim-related service providers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Cultivating relationships with claims and other internal staff, policyholders, attorneys, agents and a variety of service providers and experts all while working towards achieving the most optimal outcomes for Merchants and our policyholders. Investigating coverage and liability damages. Providing a high level of customer service. Conducting and directing timely and quality claim investigations, evaluations and equitable settlements of all assigned claims. Ensuring timely and accurate reserves consistent with established reserving philosophy and practices. Qualifications & Skills
A minimum of 2 years claims experience handling Commercial Property claims. Skilled negotiator, capable of formulating strategy and action plans for files. State adjusters license (or ability to obtain). Professional designations or working towards industry specific designations are a plus. Exceptional organizational, time management, desk management, communication and negotiation skills are required. Pay Information
The estimated salary for this role ranges from $62,353 to $75,000 based on leveling and geography, along with an equity component and a comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation may deviate from this range based on skills, experience and qualifications. Benefits
