Managing Director, Prime Sales
Selby Jennings, New York, NY, United States
Senior Sales Executive (Hedge Fund Treasury) - Confidential Fintech
Location:
New York, NY (Hybrid: 4 days/week in Manhattan)
About the Company
We're representing an award‑winning, venture-backed fintech platform modernizing treasury operations for hedge funds and alternative asset managers. The cloud‑native system aggregates and normalizes financing data from prime brokers to give funds real-time visibility into balances, rates, and costs-ultimately driving transparency, optimizing liquidity, and reducing financing expenses.
The team blends finance industry veterans (former heads of trading, COOs, and prime brokerage leaders) with seasoned technologists. Development is fully in‑house, with a UK-based engineering team and a growing US presence near Grand Central. The culture is collaborative, no‑ego, and execution‑oriented.
The Opportunity
We're hiring experienced Sales Executives to lead US origination-old‑school, relationship-driven selling to sophisticated hedge funds. You'll open doors, host coffee meetings, and create momentum. Once interest is engaged, you'll partner with internal specialists to drive the process to close.
This is a high‑impact, high‑autonomy role for someone who knows the prime financing and treasury ecosystem cold and can educate a PM/COO/CFO in a 30‑minute meeting.
What You'll Do
Identify, source, and convert high‑value opportunities with hedge funds and alternative asset managers
Build deep, trust‑based relationships through frequent, face‑to‑face engagement in Manhattan and beyond
Master the product's technical underpinnings to articulate value with authority (to both business and technical audiences)
Drive top‑of‑funnel and pipeline growth from the ground up; own territory strategy and execution
Collaborate with onboarding/coverage and product teams to shape tailored client solutions
Originate and qualify, then smoothly hand off to the internal team to advance and close
What You Bring
Domain depth:
Experience in hedge fund financing/treasury or prime brokerage at a senior level (SVP/Director or equivalent)
Technical fluency:
Strong grasp of swap & debit financing, securities lending, financing wallet, capital usage, and margin mechanics
Network & credibility:
Existing connectivity across hedge funds; comfortable getting meetings through warm relationships
Sales DNA:
Consultative, energetic, and resilient; "coffee-meeting" operator who thrives on relationship building
Executive presence:
Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management
Ownership mindset:
Self‑starter who enjoys entrepreneurial, fast‑paced environments and collaborative cultures
Compensation
High‑upside, uncapped commissions
with realistic seven‑figure potential for top performers
Work Model
Hybrid;
minimum 3 days/week
in the Manhattan office (near Grand Central)
US office is client-focused and expanding; UK engineering is fully in‑house; global growth underway
Interview Process
Streamlined and relationship-centric: meet US sales leadership and senior executives
Can move quickly for the right candidate
