About the Role TrustedSec is looking for a driven, consultative

Account Manager

to join our growing

sales team . In this role, you will own the full sales cycle from prospecting and first conversation through close and ongoing account management, acting as the primary point of contact for your clients throughout their partnership with TrustedSec. This is not a transactional sales role. Our clients face real security challenges, and they need a trusted advisor who listens, asks the right questions, and connects them with the right solutions. If you have experience selling in cybersecurity, IT consulting, or a related technical market and you know how to navigate complex buying cycles, we want to hear from you.

This position requires current, legal authorization to work in the United States. We cannot provide sponsorship or consider applicants located outside the United States.

This is a remote position, allowing employees to work remotely from their home residence within the United States. There is occasional travel required to client sites or industry‑related events. If you reside in Ohio near our office headquarters, you are always welcome to work a hybrid schedule of your choosing.

Key Responsibilities

Generate new business through a mix of self‑sourced outreach (cold calling, email, LinkedIn, social selling) and company‑generated referrals and marketing leads

Own and manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach through close and post‑sale account management

Lead discovery and sales calls with prospective clients, identifying security needs, organizational priorities, and buying timelines

Attend and represent TrustedSec at regional industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events

Collaborate with Sales Engineers on technical scoping, RFI/RFP responses, and proposal development

Leverage TrustedSec content and subject matter expertise to position the company as an industry authority

Maintain accurate pipeline data and activity records in CRM; utilize marketing automation tools to optimize outreach cadence

Build lasting client relationships that generate repeat business, referrals, and expanded account opportunities

Required Qualifications

2–5 years of B2B sales experience, with strong preference for candidates who have sold cybersecurity services, managed security services (MSSP), IT consulting, or technology solutions

Demonstrated ability to manage a pipeline, meet quota, and work through multi‑stakeholder sales cycles

Consultative selling approach: you ask good questions, listen well, and tailor your pitch to what actually matters to the client

Comfort presenting and communicating to both technical and executive‑level audiences (including CISOs and IT leadership)

Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) and familiarity with sales engagement tools

Strong written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to timely follow‑up

Self‑motivated and organized, with the ability to manage your own priorities in a remote environment

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

Direct experience selling penetration testing, red team services, incident response, or security advisory services

Existing network within the CISO, VP of IT, or security leadership community

Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, SOC 2, or ISO 27001

Experience working with channel partners, MSSPs, or technology resellers

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.

Consistent pipeline development through self‑generated and company‑supported prospecting activity

Sales cycle progression that reflects a genuine understanding of client needs and buying timelines

Accurate and up‑to‑date CRM records that support forecasting and team visibility

Long‑term client relationships that result in renewals, referrals, and account growth

Effective collaboration with Sales Engineers, SDRs, and marketing to close business efficiently

Growth Opportunity High‑performing Account Managers may progress to Senior Account Manager based on sustained quota attainment, complexity of accounts managed, and demonstrated leadership within the sales team. Senior Account Managers take on larger, more strategic accounts and may play a mentorship role within the team.

Compensation On‑target earnings: $55,000 – $130,000+ including base salary and commission. Base salary range is $45,000 – $80,000 for new hires, with growth potential as you build your book of business. Base salary is determined by experience, skills, and location within the United States. Commission on new business is paid out quarterly, one month after the quarter close. Additional commission kicker incentives run throughout the year, and Account Managers who meet their annual sales goal are eligible for company kicker bonuses paid at year end, based on overall company performance.
