Role Summary We are seeking a
QA Tester & Technical Writer
to ensure software releases are reliable, secure, and well-documented. This hybrid role blends
hands-on functional testing
(manual + light automation) with
high-quality technical documentation
(user guides, release notes, SOPs, and support content). You will work closely with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to validate features and translate technical changes into clear, actionable documentation.
Key Responsibilities Quality Assurance (QA)
Develop and execute
test plans, test cases, and test scripts
for web applications and APIs.
Perform
functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing
across releases.
Document defects with clear reproduction steps, expected/actual results, and screenshots/logs; track through resolution.
Validate fixes and support release readiness (go/no-go) decisions.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, demos) and contribute to acceptance criteria.
Support
basic test automation
(as applicable) using tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Postman/Newman, or similar.
Assist with
UAT
coordination and test evidence collection (especially for compliance-driven environments).
Technical Writing
Create and maintain
technical documentation : user guides, SOPs/runbooks, onboarding guides, and knowledge base articles.
Write and publish
release notes
and change summaries aligned with product releases.
Interview SMEs and engineers to capture accurate technical details and convert them into clear documentation.
Maintain documentation structure, versioning, and templates in SharePoint/Confluence or similar platforms.
Ensure documentation meets style/quality standards and is kept current with system changes.
Cross-Functional Support
Collaborate with Product/Engineering to clarify requirements and improve usability/testability.
Propose process improvements for QA workflows, documentation practices, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in
software QA testing
(manual required; automation a plus).
2+ years of experience producing
technical documentation
(SOPs, user guides, KB articles, release notes).
Working knowledge of
defect tracking
tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, etc.).
Experience testing
web applications and APIs
(REST; Postman or equivalent).
Strong ability to write clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with any test automation tool (Selenium / Playwright / Cypress).
Experience with documentation platforms (Confluence, SharePoint, Git-based docs).
Knowledge of accessibility basics (Section 508 / WCAG) or security testing awareness.
Prior experience in federal/regulated environments (if applicable).
