We are hiring a UI/UX Intern to join our Design Innovation Team (DIT). This is a hybrid role based in Morrisville, NC. Onsite presence will be required three days per week.
The Lenovo Design Innovation Team is a global group of highly skilled and creative people doing what we love, designing the very best world‑class products. During this summer internship you will be immersed in our team, working together across continents and cultures in a friendly, fast‑paced and inspiring work environment.
At Lenovo we design and deliver technology products to a wide range of customers and use cases with brands such as: ThinkPad, Yoga, Ideapad, and our Legion gaming products. By joining the Lenovo DIT for the summer, you will have the opportunity to make a valuable impact. We are looking to add a UI/UX Intern to our team to help us design exceptional experiences for our users across all of our products. You will learn about design at Lenovo, craft design assets that span across digital and physical touchpoints and will hone your own professional graphic design and UX design skills.
This role would be a good fit for you if you’re passionate, optimistic, and an excellent collaborator. You will be responsible for crafting thoughtful solutions to complex challenges and will play an active role in our internal design team.
Core Responsibilities
Work in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment
Understand and be willing to utilize all stages of the design thinking process
Leverage research and study user insights and new technology to identify new opportunities
Plan and prioritize to achieve project goals within set timelines
Execute and deliver design assets in alignment with project needs as well as Lenovo’s design principles and brand guidelines
Create design solutions that scale across a range of on‑device experiences
Offer solutions to UX challenges and identify opportunities for improvements throughout Lenovo’s digital product experiences and on‑device user interaction moments
Develop wireframes, prototypes, and mock‑ups to present design concepts
Basic Requirements
Currently enrolled and working towards a bachelor’s or master’s in graphic design, UX or UI design, or other relevant degree
Experience developing and delivering excellent creative content
Proficiency in Microsoft software products
Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Figma, FigJam
Ability to work onsite in Morrisville, NC
Preferred Requirements
Verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills
Ability to visualize, craft and articulate complex concepts
A positive attitude and willingness to learn new design strategies and adopt and apply new foundational design principles
