Investment Manager – Real Estate

Norges Bank Investment Management is seeking a dedicated and results-oriented professional for the position of Investment Manager in its Real Estate group, part of the Active Strategies area.

The Real Estate group operates from London and New York, comprising approximately 45 real estate professionals working across different geographies, sectors and both public and private markets. The team manages a global portfolio of approximately $70bn NAV.

The Investment Manager will work within the North American real estate team covering office and life science investments. The individual will be responsible for managing and transacting on real estate investments across both private and public markets within these sectors, gaining meaningful exposure to asset management and a variety of investment opportunities.

The position is based in New York. Travel throughout North America and Europe will be required.

Duties and responsibilities What you will do

Play leading role in investment origination, due diligence, and execution for private and public real estate opportunities, with transaction ownership from sourcing through closing.

Present investment recommendations to senior management within the Real Estate group, preparing comprehensive investment memoranda and leading deal discussions.

Help to lead asset management relationships of existing investments, serving as a primary point of contact for partners, managers and operators while driving value creation initiatives.

Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with leading real estate operators, fund managers and third‑party service providers across target markets. Mentor and develop investment colleagues while contributing to the strategic direction of NBIM's real estate investment platform.

Qualifications What you need

University degree with high academic credentials; advanced degree (MBA, MSc Real Estate, CFA) preferred.

7-10 years of relevant real estate investment experience from leading institutional investors, real estate private equity firms, real estate investment banks or top‑tier fund managers with demonstrated deal leadership.

Sophisticated financial modelling and analytical capabilities with expert proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Argus Enterprise.

Proven ability to structure complex transactions, fund investments and investments into operating companies.

Track record of leveraging technology and AI tools to enhance investment decision‑making and operational efficiency.

Compensation

– The expected base salary range for the role is USD 220,000–300,000, with an additional performance component, the size of which will depend on seniority.
