Senior Director of Finance – Global Commercial & GTM Finance This role is a hybrid position. This position is considered hybrid, allowing for a combination of remote work and in‑office collaboration. Qualified applicants must live within commuting distance of our Boston, MA office locations.

Sonos is seeking an expert, enterprise‑minded Senior Director of Finance to lead Global Commercial Finance. As the primary financial partner to the CRO, CMO, and Head of CX, you will serve as a strategic co‑pilot—driving investment decisions, challenging commercial assumptions, and architecting promotion strategies to scalably drive global business.

We are looking for a change agent who can modernize Commercial Finance into a forward‑looking, analytics‑driven engine. You will embed AI‑enabled insights, strengthen forecasting and pricing rigor, and develop a team that operates with speed, agility, and technological fluency.

This role requires executive presence, intellectual curiosity about emerging technologies, and the ability to lead transformation—ensuring Sonos’ global growth strategies are powered by sharper insights, faster decision‑making, and world‑class financial leadership.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Advisory: Act as the lead financial co‑pilot to the CRO, CMO, and CX leaders, translating complex market data into actionable growth strategies.

Commercial Strategy & Incentives: Oversee the design and efficacy of global sales incentive plans, ensuring alignment between behavior and corporate profitability.

Promotion Strategy: Lead the financial evaluation of global promotion and discount programs, optimizing for both volume and margin health across diverse retail and DTC channels. Partner with the Pricing team to understand product elasticity and LTV portfolio optimization.

Cross‑Functional Optimization: Manage the “Golden Triangle” of GTM finance—understanding how Marketing spend drives Sales, and how Sales volume impacts Customer Service/Experience costs.

Weekly Business Review: Lead the WBR review process to ensure the relevant topics are discussed for decision‑making by CEO/CFO/CRO and head of Operations.

Executive Leadership: Lead and mentor a global team of Finance Directors and Senior Managers of Americas, Europe and APAC by fostering a culture of “business‑first” financial partnership.

P&L Management: Drive the budgeting and forecasting for the entire global commercial organization and optimize investments for best returns.

AI‑Enabled Finance Transformation: Lead the modernization of Commercial Finance through the adoption of AI‑driven forecasting, predictive analytics, and scenario modeling tools to materially improve forecast accuracy, speed, and decision quality.

The Ideal Candidate You are a seasoned finance veteran who doesn't just “report the numbers” — you influence them and help drive the business. You have a sophisticated understanding of how a premium hardware/software brand operates in a competitive global landscape.

What You’ll Need

Experience: 20+ years of progressive finance experience, with a heavy emphasis on Commercial Finance, FP&A, or GTM Operations within the consumer electronics, tech, or premium retail sectors.

Leadership: Proven track record of partnering with and influencing very senior business leaders and also managing senior‑level talent as well as developing next‑generation junior talent.

Commercial Acumen: Deep expertise in trade spend, promotional ROI, and global pricing strategies.

Systems Thinker: You understand that a dollar spent in Marketing has a ripple effect on Customer Experience; you can model those dependencies with precision.

Communication: Ability to distill complex financial concepts into compelling narratives for the Executive/Senior Leadership Team.

Education: MBA or equivalent advanced degree in Finance/Economics is highly preferred.

Change Agent: Experience re‑skilling and evolving finance organizations from traditional reporting functions to proactive, analytics‑driven strategic partners.

Technology Curiosity: Deep intellectual curiosity about emerging AI tools and their application in pricing optimization, demand forecasting, marketing mix modeling, and sales productivity analysis.

Speed & Agility Mindset: Ability to operate at the pace of digital change, continuously iterating planning processes in response to new AI capabilities.

Base pay range (based on geographic location): $195,000 – $243,800. The specific pay offered will depend on the candidate’s geographic location as well as qualifications and experience. Employees in high‑cost locations may be compensated at the upper end of the range, while those in medium or low‑cost markets may be compensated at the lower end.

Compensation details listed in US job postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
