Job Summary The Michigan Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation Intern will assist Michigan NWTF staff as well as fellow partners (Michigan Department of Natural Resources and Hal & Jean Glassen Foundation) in the performance of their job duties such as conservation and educational outreach events across the state.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
Duties and Responsibilities
Attend regional meetings and training opportunities, as necessary.
Connect with statewide partners and collaborators for developing a Michigan R3 work plan.
Travel and participate in outreach and educational events across the state.
Assist with the safety and supervision of firearm safety at summer workshops and clinics.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Assist in the planning and organization of NWTF scheduled events throughout the state.
Provide insight and collaboration on the brainstorming of future statewide R3 strategic efforts.
Requirements Required Skills/Abilities
Have a career interest in forestry, wildlife, natural resources, education, outdoor recreation, and/or teaching.
Ability to work in an outdoor environment, under a variety of conditions.
Able to travel, access to a reliable vehicle.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good computer skills.
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to work independently and efficiently.
Valid Driver’s license.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Currently enrolled in a natural resource related university program.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Must be willing and able to work in outdoor conditions.
Remote Or Telecomm Status
Position can work remotely subject to in-office/in-field work as required.
