Your Opportunity We are seeking a Senior User Experience Researcher to advance the usability, accessibility, and scholarly effectiveness of our research platforms. This role focuses on understanding how students, faculty, librarians, and researchers engage with academic content, discovery systems, and digital research workflows. You will design and lead research studies that inform product strategy and drive evidence-based improvements for higher education and library tools worldwide.
What You’ll Do
Autonomously own end-to-end research including planning, designing, and conducting qualitative and quantitative user research across the product lifecycle
Translate complex research findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
Partner with UX designers, product managers, and stakeholders to influence product direction and strategy
Advocate for user-centered design principles and research best practices across teams
Conduct usability testing, interviews, surveys, and field studies
Synthesize findings into clear, structured deliverables such as research reports, personas, journey maps, and frameworks
Advocate for accessibility, inclusivity, and equitable access to information in all research efforts

About You
5+ years of experience in UX research, human-computer interaction, or a related field
Strong foundation in both qualitative and quantitative research methods
Experience translating ambiguous problem spaces into clear research direction
Experience working in cross-functional product teams
Excellent communication and storytelling skills
A diverse portfolio that demonstrates impact across complex problem spaces
What sets you apart
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Human-Computer Interaction, Library and Information Science, Psychology, Education, or a related field
Experience conducting research with academic, library, or scholarly audiences
Knowledge of information-seeking behavior, metadata, search relevance, or research evaluation practices
Experience working with institutional stakeholders such as universities, consortia, or research organizations
Pay Range USD $104,030.00 - USD $148,615.00 /Yr.
The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, education, training, and experience, as well as the position’s work location.
