We have offices in NYC and LA. Candidates should be within commuting distance of either office and will need to be available for in‑person collaboration on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE MKG is looking for a talented and versatile Account Director to join our Accounts team. This person will lead teams in conceptualizing and executing top‑notch brand experiences that further our client’s business objectives and showcase the full creative and strategic potential of the agency. They will have ultimate responsibility for all deliverables to our client, and will be expected to institute systems and processes to improve output.

Strong experience in account leadership, client relations, people management and brand marketing are required. Candidates should have a strong track record of building relationships between brand and agency, with demonstrable strategic leadership and passion for delivering and executing innovative ideas and experiences.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE:

Own the account. Leave your mark on the work and the team.

Set overall vision and strategy for key clients, shaping overall business direction and long‑term growth opportunities

Act as senior client partner, ensuring stakeholder and expectation management, balancing of client/agency priorities and conflict resolution

Own account health: scopes, profitability, forecasting, resourcing, and performance metrics

Drive organic growth and new business opportunities

Bring a strategic lens to the clients and opportunities, translating the brief into tangible goals

Build strong cross‑functional relationships across Creative, Design, Production and Finance to navigate complex situations and ensure clarity, alignment and operational efficiency

Drive momentum both internally and externally, proactively seeking conversations and agreements

Establish and enforce best practices and processes across accounts, optimizing where needed

Manage and grow junior teams, partnering with MD on overall department development

Contribute to agency culture, talent development, hiring efforts, and internal training initiatives

Represent the agency externally in senior client, industry, and leadership settings

Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THIS ROLE:

A vision to rally a team behind. The experience to get them there.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 9+ years relevant experience, with at least 4 years of people management experience

A proven ability to lead complex experiential programs end‑to‑end, from strategy through flawless execution

Deep client partnership skills, with confidence advising senior stakeholders and shaping long‑term brand vision

Experience in scope management, forecasting, and growing accounts sustainably

A track record of managing account teams while setting a high bar for excellence

Calm, decisive leadership in high‑pressure moments, balancing creativity, logistics, and client trust

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Deep understanding of organizational dynamics, change management, and process improvement principles

Proficiency in Google Workspace and MacOS, comfort working across shared tools and platforms like Slack, WebEx, and Zoom

Flexibility for occasional travel and to work non‑traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, as business needs arise

Salary Description

$130,000 - $175,000 annually

***This is the minimum + maximum base salary that we, in good faith, are willing to pay at the time of the posting. Salary commensurate with experience
