DP Digital Solutions Specialist
Location: Gurnee - Head Office, United States
Compensation: $85,000 - $105,000 (based on qualifications)
Position Summary This position is responsible for driving the success of the Digital Printing product platform through technical sales support and post‑sale customer application support.
Location Field Based
Main Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Maximize press utilization at customer sites
Develop and deliver support package content
Investigate and understand customer requirements
Understand purchase justification
Assess customer experience level
Identify opportunities for application development
Facilitate and assist with material and mechanical evaluations
Train personnel on best practices for entire production cycle
Reinforce hardware and software best practices as necessary
Connect customers with potential growth opportunities
Provide internal support and training for DP personnel
Provide customer training to first‑time users
Provide support for sales team in pre‑sales process
Provide detailed documentation for all site visits including outcomes and action plans
Document application details from customer visits
Provide market feedback and customer requirements to Product Management
Provide reliability data to Service Team
Supervisory Responsibilities None
Education & Experience
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
3 years of experience in printing technology
Pre‑press experience necessary
Solid troubleshooting skills
Color management (G7) experience a plus
Inkjet experience a plus
Valid Driver’s License required
Must understand entire digital print life cycle, including but not limited to: Press Settings, MIS/ERP systems, file prep, VDP, color management/RIP software, output
Must understand traditional print processes, especially flexographic
Proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams without formal authority
Ability to travel up to 75% in any calendar year
Skills & Knowledge
Ability to utilize internal tools effectively (Salesforce, ServiceMax, TCO Tool, etc.)
Competency in Adobe Suite or Hybrid Software Suite
Ability to communicate with customers at all levels of the organization
Advanced troubleshooting skills encompassing hardware and software
Excellent communication and customer‑facing soft skills
Able to work with different levels of employees/customers
Excellent time‑management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and ask for help when necessary
Software and pre‑press trainer experience
Spanish fluency a plus
Physical Demands
Light work. Light work involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a small amount of force constantly to move objects. Pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching, gross/fine manipulation, driving, kneeling, crawling, and climbing may be required. Physical demand requirements are more than those for Sedentary Work.
