The Superintendent directly supervises field labor, including subcontractors and craft workers, and requires strong leadership, organizational, and client‑service skills. Candidates must understand all trades in commercial interior construction and high‑end renovation projects, be willing to travel extensively, have excellent communication skills, and work well in a team. Knowledge of all phases of commercial construction, computer skills, and self‑direction are required. Responsibilities and Duties
Oversee all daily field operations to ensure proper site safety, construction progress, quality control, housekeeping, and daily log. Provide guidance, leadership, and direct supervision of site staff, including assistant superintendents, laborers, and other construction‑related personnel. Manage schedule, including weekly preparation of a 2‑week look‑ahead. Proactively schedule and coordinate all subcontractors to ensure project completion in accordance with the schedule and to avoid additional costs. Develop comprehensive understanding of project strategy and commitments—including financial goals, scheduling, logistics, phasing, milestones, and inspections. Ensure job‑site operations are in compliance with design/specifications, are completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. Maintain open dialogue with the project team regarding changes in work, job conditions, subcontractor relations, and any deviations from project direction. Partner with project management to keep an updated and accurate project schedule reflecting status changes and meeting cost and time requirements. Run weekly meetings, including project and subcontractor meetings. Manage the RFI process, creating solutions to site issues and tracking them through close‑out. Exceed client expectations by understanding client needs, wants, preferences, and culture. Promote positive subcontractor relations by dealing professionally and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors, instilling this philosophy in the project team. Maintain and review punch list process to ensure all items are addressed and executed timely. Manage close‑out process and warranty responses with the project manager. Qualifications and Skills
At least five years of relevant experience as a Superintendent, preferably in interior commercial general contracting. Proven record of managing complex projects in occupied spaces. Ability to manage/co‑ordinate multiple quick‑turnaround projects simultaneously. Proficiency in reading commercial construction plans and specifications. 10‑Hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Certificate. 4‑Hour Supported Scaffold User Certificate. Willingness to travel upon request for 8‑12 weeks within and out of state. Computer Systems and Benefits
