Overview Mobile Phlebotomist (Local) — CHICAGO LAND Area

VIP Labs is seeking a reliable, experienced

Mobile Phlebotomist

to work independently and provide professional blood collection services for patients throughout a designated region. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, excellent patient care, and dependable transportation, as you will travel to patient homes and approved specimen drop-off locations using your

personal vehicle .

Key Responsibilities

Travel to assigned locations and arrive

on time

for scheduled blood collection appointments.

Perform

standard and specialized phlebotomy procedures

on patients of all ages in a safe, accurate, and professional manner.

Ensure proper patient identification, specimen labeling, and collection integrity.

Provide clear

patient instructions

for specimen collection (as needed).

Process specimens as required, including:

Centrifugation using a

portable centrifuge .

Separating blood samples and aliquoting urine when necessary.

Complete pre-analytical duties such as specimen handling, packaging, and preparing specimens for transport/shipping.

Transport specimens to designated drop-off sites (may include local hospitals and/or independent lab Patient Service Centers).

Follow all safety and laboratory policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Dispose of blood draw equipment and biohazard materials according to health and safety regulations.

Maintain an adequate inventory of supplies needed to perform daily assignments.

Properly use and wear

PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

to minimize risk and maintain a safe environment.

Required Qualifications

Has experience working

independently

in the field and is comfortable managing a mobile schedule.

Demonstrates excellent venipuncture technique and adherence to standard protocols.

Consistently delivers

top-quality, error-free work

with attention to detail.

Understands specimen handling requirements including container selection, centrifugation, and transport procedures.

Maintains professionalism and strong patient communication at all times.

Has a reliable

personal vehicle

and ability to travel throughout the designated territory.

Work Location / Travel This is a

local mobile position

throughout the Illinois area, with travel to patient homes and specimen drop-off locations required.
