Investment and Capital Market Senior Associate
to support a high-priority federal investment program aimed at accelerating the development and deployment of emerging technologies. This role requires advanced financial expertise, strong cross‑sector insight, and the ability to lead analytical efforts, mentor junior staff, and manage complex interagency collaboration in a fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment. This position is On‑site/Hybrid with Ad‑Hoc Telework Possible.
Key Responsibilities
Lead detailed analysis of investment funds, portfolio companies, and capital strategies across a range of alternative investment structures.
Evaluate critical technology sectors and their alignment with national priorities, including commercial and defense applications.
Guide and support the intake, vetting, and pipeline review processes for potential investment opportunities, ensuring clarity, rigor, and traceability of decision inputs.
Oversee the development of investment memorandums and executive‑level briefings for senior government stakeholders.
Serve as a strategic liaison across federal agencies and partner organizations to drive alignment, reduce friction, and enhance capital effectiveness.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal data systems, reporting tools, and workflow management processes.
Support the development and documentation of investment policies, risk mitigation strategies, and reporting frameworks.
Mentor junior analysts and act as a technical and operational lead across multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in alternative investments, capital markets, or the defense innovation ecosystem.
Deep knowledge of capital strategy, investment structures, and public‑private funding models.
Proven experience evaluating or supporting innovation in dual‑use or national security‑relevant technologies.
Proficiency in investment modeling, risk analysis, and data‑driven decision‑making.
Strong understanding of the defense innovation ecosystem, including key programs, players, and collaborative mechanisms.Demonstrated success in senior‑level roles involving interagency coordination, policy interpretation, or capital allocation.
Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to credibly represent complex programs in strategic forums.
Desired Qualifications
Strong work ethic and sense of ownership; ability to inspire and guide junior team members.
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
Critical thinking mindset and a willingness to challenge assumptions and improve operational processes.
Security Requirement
This position requires an active Top‑Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility.
Individuals hired into this role will be expected to sign a specific Non‑Disclosure Agreement for the project given the nature of the work.
