Summary Q2 is seeking a Business Consultant to join our PrecisionLender organization, working closely with Implementation Engineers, Project Managers, and Client Project teams. This individual will report to an Implementations Delivery Manager and will engage on multiple concurrent implementations.

Business Consultants provide subject matter expertise while working within various Q2 implementation project teams. You will develop, deliver, and train best practices in both technical and non‑technical aspects of a project. The Business Consultant inspects for gaps in training, work aids, and execution detail so that both the client and Q2 teams meet and exceed delivery expectations.

This role typically involves extensive interaction with Sales, Systems Engineering, Product Development, and other cross‑functional teams, as well as various client stakeholders. You may communicate in various forms with Q2 and client executive‑level staff, including emails, presentations, formal and informal meetings. These communications may include consultative recommendations, expectation setting, requirements development, negotiation, and conflict resolution.

Experience with PrecisionLender is highly valued; however, prior experience with the platform is not required.

Responsibilities

Assesses project risks and builds mitigation strategies

Trains others in best practices and proper execution

Participates in building project plans and guides teams through key on‑site activities

Works with Solutions Architects and Development to ensure suggested solutions are feasible

Acts as a liaison and manages expectations of key sponsors and client executive staff related to timing, functionality, and back‑office requirements needed to support a successful go‑live

Mentors PMs and trains other Implementation resources in areas of product expertise, case resolution, client communication, and process improvement

Supports case management and timely issue resolution by facilitating case reviews

Acts as subject matter expert in product features and functionality

Helps build requirements and solution design

Analyzes customers’ businesses and makes recommendations

Ensures that all security, availability, confidentiality, and privacy policies and controls are adhered to

Helps oversee testing and case resolution

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5–7 years of experience in project management, financial services, or a similar consultative role

Familiarity with enterprise software deployment architecture and methodologies

Knowledge of effective business requirements practices and support methodologies

Experience with commercial lending, pricing solutions, or PrecisionLender is preferred but not required

Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with technical teams and non‑technical FI senior management

Strong people and teamwork skills

Ability to remain calm, diplomatic, and cooperative under stressful conditions

Attention to detail, exceptional follow‑through, and ability to prioritize, stay organized, and multi‑task

Strong sense of urgency and enthusiasm for reaching goals and meeting deadlines

Ability to train individuals 1‑on‑1 and in a classroom environment

Passion for improving processes and commitment to customer satisfaction

Ability to travel up to 30% of the time

This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
