Oakland, CA (Hybrid – Primarily Remote with Onsite 4–5 days/month) Duration:

$60–70/hr (W2)
About the Role We are seeking a highly analytical and detail‑oriented
Senior Business Analyst
to support data‑driven decision‑making within a leading utility organization. This role focuses on advanced data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence, with a strong emphasis on
SQL, Power BI, and Excel .
The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in the
energy/utility sector , strong communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze complex datasets to develop insights, reports, and predictive models that support business strategies
Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using
Power BI, SQL, and Excel
Develop and track KPIs, metrics, and performance indicators
Perform advanced data analysis including
what-if scenarios and trend forecasting
Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams
Support regulatory reporting and analytical modeling using large datasets
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver data solutions
Manage small to mid‑sized projects, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder satisfaction
Respond to internal and external data requests with accuracy and efficiency
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
4+ years of experience in
data analytics or business analysis
Advanced proficiency in:
SQL (data querying and modeling)
Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, modeling, analysis)
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the
utility or energy industry (highly preferred)
Knowledge of
data warehousing and BI tools
(e.g., SAS, Business Objects)
Experience with
Power Automate and Microsoft Project
Familiarity with regulatory reporting and compliance environments

Must be
local to the Bay Area (Oakland/Dublin vicinity)
