
Managing Director, Institutional Municipal Trading

Executive Summary: The Managing Director of Institutional Securities trading is responsible for driving revenue growth through thoughtful, strategic market-making in municipal fixed‑rate securities, cultivating new Institutional investment relationships and fostering ideas to increase profitability. In addition, the colleague will identify opportunities based on comprehensive knowledge of clients, prospects, market conditions, current product offerings and services.
Duties and Responsibilities
Market making and trade execution in tax exempt and taxable municipal fixed‑rate securities
Foster, grow and leverage relationships across buy‑side PMs and traders
Provide market color and opinion to the municipal securities team and its clients
Implement and maintain an effective trading repertoire
Facilitate account surveillance and trade execution
Maintain strict adherence to compliance obligations
Perform other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business or related field
10+ years’ experience in the securities industry with no identified regulatory issues
NASD Series 7 and Series 63 licenses required
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience trading long‑dated tax exempt and taxable municipal securities
Deep knowledge of structure, credit and fundamentals in the municipal market
Successful track record of generating revenue in municipal trading
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
Ability to analyze and capitalize on unique structure and credit
Strong written and verbal communication and negotiation skill set
Modeling skills are preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, Bloomberg TOMS and Tradeweb, MarketAxess and ICE Bonds
Exempt Status: Yes
Workplace Type Office (Certain positions may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement. Remote roles will also be able to come together in the office when needed.)
Compensation Range $107,000 – $217,000 Annually
Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. Huntington provides a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
