Location: Elgin, IL – conveniently located right off the highway. Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office (Monday–Wednesday), 2 days remote (Thursday–Friday).

Job Details We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, and experienced Permanent Tax Director to join our Accounting and Finance team. This critical role will be responsible for leading and managing multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our clients. This position offers excellent opportunities for leadership and career advancement to the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Oversee and drive the entire tax planning process to minimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.
Manage members of the tax team as they prepare components of the company's U.S. federal income tax return and state tax returns.
Review tax returns and quarterly/yearly tax projections.
Manage and coordinate tax audits.
Maintain tax balances on general ledger.
Prepare all tax papers on a regular basis and handle all information data requests.
Advise management about the impact of new laws on tax liabilities.
Coordinate accounting staff and assess their performance.
Develop tax strategies to assist the company in being financially efficient.
Collaborate with external auditors and HR personnel to ensure all tax-related matters are accurately handled.
Qualifications
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Juris Doctorate (JD) is required.
Minimum of 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate and public accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to share knowledge with team members and clients.
Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
Analytical skills and a strong detail-oriented mindset.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
