
Furniture Designer (Furniture Dealership)

Position Overview
A highly reputable furniture dealer company in Seattle, WA is currently hiring for a Furniture Designer to support a high-volume corporate account on the dealer side. This is not a traditional A&D role, and is looking for a furniture expert who has experience working in a furniture dealership. This role focuses on furniture layout, specification, and order accuracy for private offices and support spaces. Candidates must have contract furniture dealer experience, be knowledgeable in CET and AutoCAD, and be very confident working in a high-interaction client‑facing environment. The role will start as 100% onsite during the training and ramp‑up phase, but will transition into a hybrid schedule.
Pay:
$70,000–$78,000 per year (eligible for overtime pay)
Location:
Seattle, WA (hybrid schedule after training)
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Produce accurate, dealer‑level furniture specs and orders with minimal revisions.
Use CET and AutoCAD independently to deliver layouts, revisions, and documentation.
Be reliable on‑site, proactive, and trusted as the furniture subject‑matter expert.
Work directly with the internal project team to assess requirements and develop conceptual designs and space planning based on client needs.
Will be working with one of the most reputable clients in Seattle, WA.
Become the client‑specific furniture brand’s product expert and become familiar with other commercial furniture options to ensure workspace design consistency.
Conduct field measurements and verification.
Research and assist in selecting ancillary products for projects.
Prepare installation drawings.
Qualification Requirements
3–5+ years of relevant furniture design and commercial office space planning experience working in a furniture dealership or manufacturer.
Furniture specification experience required.
Experience working with Haworth products is a big plus.
Must have experience working in a furniture dealership (non‑negotiable).
CET and AutoCAD experience.
Experience with SketchUp and/or Project Spec 5 is a big plus.
Commercial office space planning experience.
Must be comfortable working in a high‑interaction client‑facing environment.
Experience working directly with clients.
Experience supporting multiple projects at once.
