We currently have a
Sales Representative
position available for someone to help us gain a stronger foothold in the
San Diego Metro area . To be successful in this role, the rep will need to proactively pursue and cold-call restaurants, cafes, coffee houses, bakeries, donut shops, offices, and other businesses in their territory to source and cultivate new contracts for our full-service coffee program, which includes providing everything from our premium coffee to cups, creamers, and other supplies. The right person must possess high-energy, “politely aggressive” prospecting and closing techniques, and a commitment to hitting sales goals.*Important note: This is a service contract sales position, not a CPG or retail placement position. Do you think you’re up to the challenge? Then here's what we will need from you: Demonstrated success in Outside Field Sales in a B2B environment is essential with experience in the food and beverage industry preferred and a robust plan to penetrate the breakfast-brunch-lunch market. Familiarity with the Latin/Asian marketsis helpful but not required. This is a remote role, but it will occasionally require coming into the office for mandatory meetings, trainings, and other events, so candidates MUST live in the SoCal Metro region and be a true road warrior who is comfortable with a lot of driving.
Performance Expectations:
Generate new business for the full-service coffee program within the San Diego region through prospecting, cold calling, networking, relationship building, and delivering professional presentations, demonstrations and tastings as needed, including onsite in the company’s Vernon showroom.
Establish and maintain quality business relationships with customers, including business owners, managers, and staff through consistent site visits and virtual or in-person meetings to support profitable growth opportunities.
Perform assessments to identify client needs and issues to provide effective suggestions and solutions for coffee-related products and services.
Consistently complete sales activities that produce viable results, including initiating coffee service contracts to achieve division sales goals.
Be a team player with a collaborative approach who will share best practices and innovative selling techniques during team projects and team activities, including mandatory onsite trainings and meetings.
Maintain detailed documentation of customer-related activity and sales reporting through CRM system: Daily input of conversations with customers, account management notes, sales opportunities, tasks, follow up scheduling tasks and meeting appointments required.
Perform all duties in a manner that reflects the company’s culture and values and promotes a positive image of our brand.
Job Requirements:
Comprehensive understanding and execution of the sales cycle: Prospect, Qualify, Present, Propose, Close
Demonstrated success in outside field sales in a quota-driven 'hunting' and 'farming' environment with ability to winningly overcome objections
Must be a SoCal resident with a valid drivers’ license and a clean DMV record
Willingness to engage in extensive travel within assigned territory and to the corporate office.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with ability to effectively use virtual meeting platforms
Strong drive to achieve goals & commitment to success: results-oriented, self-starter
Efficient & reliable self-management and time management skills; highly organized in following up and meeting deadlines
Active listening: being empathetic toward others, positive attitude, enthusiastic
Competent in internet research, social media platforms, Microsoft Office suite
Ability to successfully and patiently work and negotiate with individuals of diverse backgrounds, including groups where English may be a second or third language
Education and Experience Preferred:
BS/BA in Business, Marketing or related field and/or equivalent experience with strong influential and persuasive sales skills with decision makers at all levels of an organization
5+ years B2B outside field sales experience
Experience in working with a cross-functional team (Sales, Marketing, Service, and Customer Service) to accomplish business objectives
Some barista experience or knowledge of coffee and the commercial coffee industry would be a plus but is not required.
