The
Sales Tax Associate
will administer state and local sales tax compliance, associated transactional accounting, and support internal procedures. This role will require adhering to tax laws in multiple states while utilizing robotic process automation (RPA).
This role is based in our Tampa Restaurant Support Center and will work a hybrid schedule (three days per week onsite).
Essential Duties
Processes and pays state and local sales tax, food and beverage, gross receipt tax returns
Supports accounting close procedures, e.g. balance sheet reconciliations, PnL analysis
Administers tax exempt forms for external vendors and restaurant customers
Maintains tax notices, records, returns for proper record keeping
Prepares accounting entries for compliance transactions
Responds to tax agency notices
Supports property tax compliance, accounting and systems
Requirements
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience or interest in RPA, Alteryx, business intelligence applications
Proficient at MS Excel
Detail oriented and comfortable in a strict deadline environment
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Good understanding of GAAP accounting concepts and terminology
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a school of Business or Accounting preferred
Multistate sales tax compliance experience preferred
