HSSE Director
Location: Amarillo/Hybrid Reports To: VP Operations Department: Health, Safety, Security & Environment Job Summary The HSSE Director provides strategic leadership and oversight for all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental aspects of large-scale energy and civil infrastructure projects. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, client standards, and corporate policies while fostering a proactive safety culture across all project phases. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and implement HSSE strategy aligned with project objectives. Establish HSSE performance metrics and reporting systems. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and safety culture. Compliance & Governance Ensure adherence to local, national, and international HSSE regulations. Conduct audits, inspections, and governance reviews. Interface with regulatory bodies and manage incident reporting. Risk Management Identify hazards and implement mitigation measures. Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis. Monitor leading and lagging indicators for proactive risk control. Training & Development Design and deliver HSSE training programs for employees and contractors. Promote competency development and onboarding for HSSE personnel. Champion behavioral safety programs. Project Integration Embed HSSE requirements in EPCM contracts and project execution plans. Oversee contractor HSSE performance and pre-qualification. Coordinate emergency preparedness and response plans. Requirements Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Safety Management, Environmental Science, or related field. Experience: Minimum 10 years in HSSE leadership roles within energy or civil infrastructure projects. Certifications: NEBOSH, CSP, ASP, or equivalent. Skills: Strong leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills; ability to influence at all levels.
