Digital Marketing Director (Remote - DC/MD/VA)

Overview GovCIO is currently hiring for a Digital Marketing Director who will lead the strategy, execution, and optimization of digital marketing initiatives to drive brand awareness, demand and lead generation, and audience growth. This role oversees multi‑channel digital programs, manages external relationships, and collaborates with cross‑functional teams to ensure marketing efforts align with business objectives.

This position will be fully remote within the MD/DC/VA area.

Responsibilities

Develop and own the end-to-end digital marketing strategy for sponsored editorial product launches, events and conferences

Lead demand generation, digital advertising, SEO/SEM, and email marketing

Oversee content distribution strategies

Manage and optimize marketing technology stack (CMS, CRM, marketing automation, analytics, ad platforms, social listening/share of voice tools, e.g.)

Analyze performance metrics, report on KPIs, and translate insights into action

Own digital marketing budgets, forecasting, and ROI measurement

Lead, mentor, and grow a team of digital marketers

Collaborate with sales, creative, and executive leadership to ensurealignment between strategy and business goals

Stay current on digital trends, platforms, and best practices

Qualifications Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or related field 8-12 years (or commensurate experience)

Proven experience driving demand generation and measurable growth through digital channels

Strong expertise in analytics, attribution models, and performance optimization

Knowledge and working experience with project management tools

Expertise with marketing automation and paid media tools

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management/oversight

Experience working with external partners and guiding cross‑functional teams

Posted Pay Range The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at‑will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range USD $125,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 /Yr.
