Anime Convention Sales & Booth Lead Specialist Important Details: We depart from Minnesota. You must be able to commute yourself to our facility where we disembark. This is a full‑time position. Knowledge of the following anime is crucial for success in this role:

Required Anime Knowledge

Sailor Moon – identify main characters, symbols, weapons, and colors

Cardcaptor Sakura – identify main characters and symbols

Madoka Magica – identify main characters and symbols

Digimon (first 3 seasons) – identify main characters, partners, symbols, and colors

Pokemon – identify at least 400 Pokemon

On and off the clock research and studying may be necessary to cultivate the ideal level of understanding we require. This information can be learned quickly but you must be willing to do that learning in order to succeed and thrive in this role, before your first convention.

We are a traveling vendor of boutique, high‑quality anime merchandise and are seeking dedicated team members to become the face of our brand.

We’re not just selling products; we’re building a community and creating an exceptional experience for everyone who visits our booth, from the casual fan to the most discerning collector. We are seeking passionate peers to join our convention road team for 1–2 weeks a month. As this is a full‑time position, the other days are spent in the warehouse and mall store helping to prep for the weekends.

Responsibilities

Road Trip:

You must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving a large van for extended periods.

Build:

Upon arrival, unpack and move merchandise, physically build our entire booth setup.

Main Event:

For 8–12 hours a day, engage with customers and share product knowledge to generate sales.

Teardown:

Pack up and load back into the van, hit the road the next day.

Team Autonomy:

Manage your own time, energy, and personal needs to perform at your best during the weekend.

Core Requirements

Strong sales drive with goal‑oriented mindset

Commitment to deep knowledge acquisition; willingness to learn anime and product lines on the fly

Road warrior: valid driver’s license and comfort driving large vehicles

Physical stamina: lift, bend, squat, climb ladders, stand >10 hours, maintain high energy

Unwavering composure during stress and teamwork situations

Radical self‑reliance: self‑motivated, plan ahead, take responsibility without constant supervision

Bonus Points If You

Already a fan with deep knowledge of anime and pop culture (especially Pokemon, Digimon, Sailor Moon, Madoka Magica, CLAMP/Cardcaptor Sakura, and upcoming titles like Utena, Mermaid Melody, Rozen Maiden, and Shugo Chara)

Have experience in social media, creating engaging content for collectors

Compensation & Perks Starting pay is $22/hour, or $45,760/yearly salary. Significant room for growth in pay and responsibility based on performance and skill refinement. Our experienced Animaestros take home an average of $52,000/year, and some upwards of $62,400/year. Travel to exciting conventions, work with a passionate team, and be at the heart of the anime and pop‑culture community.
