To help us towards becoming the most impactful advocacy agency in the U.S., we are hiring a communications manager to be a critical component of our external facing support team responsible for running campaigns for clients. The communications director will be responsible for leading client campaigns, managing team members, and working with the leadership team to grow the business.

We're looking for someone who likes to work hard and stay focused on the impact of the work they do towards achieving client campaign goals.

On Site in Oakland ,CA Office: Monday through Thursday

Work From Home: Fridays

Key Areas of Responsibility:

Lead the development and execution of large-scale political and communications strategies

Overall responsibility for delivering on the agreed upon scope of work for clients

Strong ability to write a range of materials including, but not limited to op-eds, pitches, statements, social media posts, briefing notes, memos, research, messaging etc

Work with the leadership team to grow the business and support the development of team members and team culture

Minimum Qualifications:

7-10 year previous experience in a political communication and/or public relations capacity

At least 5 years of experience managing a client team or equivalent

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment to accomplish team goals

Proven record of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals and groups having diverse interests and backgrounds in both managerial and non managerial settings

Excellent people skills, negotiation, analytical, organizational, project and time management skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills required, including public speaking and presentation skills

Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

A practice of tenacity and creativity to tackle complex problems

A commitment to honesty, accountability and humility when navigating work with clients and internally at The Worker Agency
