Job Description Your role at Samsonite:
The Director of SAP Solutions is responsible for end to end execution of SAP solutions across all functional modules throughout the Americas, while also serving as the global center of excellence owner for SAP Finance (FICO) and Sales & Distribution (SD). In this role, the Director ensures successful delivery, stability, and continuous improvement of the complete SAP landscape supporting the America business operations, while defining and governing global SAP FICO & SD strategy, standards, and best practices across the globe.
The role requires strong execution leadership, deep SAP Finance expertise, and the ability to balance regional delivery accountability with global functional governance.
This is a hybrid role; we work on site 4 days and remotely 1 day, weekly.
Essential Functions
Own and lead the SAP Americas organization, with full accountability for execution, delivery quality, and operational performance across all SAP functional areas, ensuring alignment to business priorities and global standards.
Serve as the Global Center of Excellence (COE) owner for SAP Finance (FICO) and Sales & Distribution (SD), defining global standards, governance models, and best practices, and ensuring consistent adoption across regions.
Partner with senior business and IT leadership to translate business strategy into SAP roadmaps, investment priorities, and executable delivery plans that drive measurable business value.
Oversee SAP transformation programs and initiatives, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and aligned to defined scope, quality, and risk management standards.
Collaborate cross-functionally with IT peers, enterprise architecture, and business stakeholders to ensure SAP solutions integrate effectively with the broader application and data landscape.
Own and govern the SAP Finance (FICO) solution landscape globally, ensuring alignment with finance strategy, statutory requirements, and internal control standards across all regions.
Provide executive oversight for SAP Finance processes, including Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash (finance integration), Procure-to-Pay, Asset Accounting, Costing, and Profitability Analysis, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and audit readiness.
Minimum Requirements
10+ years of progressive experience working within the SAP application environment.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, MIS, or a related field.
Proven experience leading SAP delivery for Finance.
Demonstrated success managing large-scale SAP initiatives, including upgrades, enhancements, and transformation programs.
Strong leadership experience managing SAP teams, including internal staff and external vendors or managed service providers.
Experience working in a complex, multi-region global SAP landscape.
Strong project and program management experience, with the ability to drive initiatives to completion on time and within budget.
Excellent executive communication skills, with experience presenting status, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership.
Preferred Skills and Industry experience
Advanced SAP functional expertise in Finance (Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash integration, Asset Accounting, Costing, and Profitability Analysis)
Experience serving in a Center of Excellence (COE) or global governance role for SAP.
SAP S/4HANA experience; S/4HANA for Fashion is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and retain high-performing SAP teams.
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business strategy into SAP roadmaps and delivery plans.
