About the Role Roland Foods is growing its Industrial Sales Team and seeks an experienced and motivated sales professional to contribute to the overall growth of a defined customer portfolio with a focus on existing Industrial Manufacturing Accounts.
Industrial Sales Specialist is a quota‑carrying sales position that will interact with customer leadership teams, category managers and other decision makers to drive account growth and generate incremental new business. This performance‑driven role carries revenue accountability for target accounts. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong sales skills with food or ingredient sales experience, a results‑driven mindset, and a desire to win. Expectations include driving incremental sales in the existing customer base, defending existing business, and satisfying customer activities and organizational commitments to create strong partnerships.
Responsibilities also require effective cross‑functional collaboration with internal teams—Procurement, Logistics, Revenue Management, and Marketing—within the Industrial Sales team dedicated to multiple business segments: Branded Manufacturers, Meal‑Kitters, Co‑Packers/Co‑Manufacturers, and Commissaries.
Location: Remote position based in United States.
Responsibilities
Manage direct account business with tier customers (100% time / ~100 customers)
Direct account management with a focus on Food Manufacturers and Producers
Maintain strict adherence to metrics, ensuring each account is contacted via phone, email, or in person at least once every two weeks on a cycle
Consistently log activity with all customers under management (~4 proactive touches per customer per month)
Conduct outbound new customer prospecting calls daily (5–10 calls)
Coordinate with Roland logistics and inventory control to effectively service customers; maintain high service levels
Facilitate business review processes with current customers ensuring consistent contact and follow‑up on new business opportunities
Create and maintain price locks and contracts with necessary customers in order to preserve/grow business
Utilize Business Technology Reports/Data to drive business development activities of products with customers through education, building relationships, and traditional selling efforts
Support existing business and pursue new placement opportunities with the goal of creating incremental growth through direct and indirect selling activities
Drive unit volume growth and execute organizational initiatives
Support and promote the Roland Foods brand through product training, targeted sampling, and customer‑specific marketing
Document any and all activity around the customer for performance management, future internal growth, and ongoing reference
Run and facilitate activities within the account base to promote the Roland Foods brand, including targeted promotional campaigns, sales meetings and trainings
Participate in trade shows where appropriate
Execute recipe development and menu ideation
Introduce new products, enter sample requests and follow up
Execute industrial business plan to exceed net sales targets
Achieve individual quota attainment for new opportunity wins
Achieve individual quota attainment for strategic activity goals and benchmarks
Quantifiable achievement of self‑defined personal goals
Qualifications and Skills Required
5+ years of prior account/sales management experience
5+ years of experience in industrial, food, or ingredient sales, preferably in a quota‑carrying role
Ability to perform consistent outbound prospecting and new business development
Background working with Food Manufacturers, Producers, Branded Manufacturers, Co‑Packers, Meal Kits, or Commissaries
Proficiency using CRM tools, sales activity logging, and business intelligence/reporting tools
Ability to travel up to 25% required
Preferred
Willingness to participate in trade shows and customer‑facing brand initiatives when needed
Experience collaborating with cross‑functional internal teams (Supply Chain, Logistics, Revenue Management, Marketing, etc.)
Strong communication and presentation skills in front of groups of all sizes required
Organized, detail‑oriented with strong technical writing skills required
Salary Range Roland Foods hires exceptional people for a wide variety of important functions. Base salary for this role will be
$70,000 – $95,000 . This role is bonus eligible. Based on your qualifications, previous experience, and transferable skills, the company will determine at its sole discretion the salary offered.
