We are looking for a motivated
Senior Contract Manager
with direct pharmaceutical or biotech experience to join our team. You have a business-first approach with strong attention to detail. You can easily drive timelines and possess the ability to identify and analyze potential risks. You are meticulous and adept at all phases of contract management. You have a natural drive for innovation and automation.
In this role, you will be reporting to the company's Associate General Counsel, you will be responsible for managing the company's contracts process, performing other work under the supervision of attorneys, as required.
Responsibilities
Utilization of templates and fallback materials to draft and negotiate contracts such as confidentiality agreements, professional services agreements, MSAs, licensing agreements and vendor agreements, amendments and work orders
Identify and elevate key contract terms to business owners and attorneys, as applicable, to manage and mitigate risks
Track and drive contracts to execution, including identifying appropriate stakeholders necessary to reach decisions, and hosting meetings to drive efficient resolution of issues
Effectively communicate priorities and urgencies to applicable stakeholders
Serve as a subject matter expert in contract systems and processes
Partner with colleagues to address and solve day‑to‑day contracting issues, and proactively troubleshoot and implement short‑term and long‑term improvements
Identify and track key contract terms and conditions, such as deliverables, milestones, dates, deadlines, renewals and termination obligations
Qualifications
Juris Doctor preferred
Minimum of 7+ years' experience in contract negotiations
In‑house experience at a publicly traded biotechnology or pharmaceutical company
Motivated and extremely detail‑oriented, especially when managing sensitive legal information
Ability to support and work closely with a high‑functioning team, but also successfully work independently without direction in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
Ability to work and coordinate effectively with broad cross‑functional clients and teams, including Regulatory, Commercial, Finance, Clinical Operations, Clinical Development, Pharmaceutical Development, Corporate Affairs, Human Resources and R&D
General understanding of applicable laws and regulations as well as legal risks related to a clinical‑stage company, including confidentiality, intellectual property, privacy, anti‑kickback and anti‑bribery laws, FDA regulations, and GxP
Working knowledge of common vendor types (CRO, Lab Services, CDMOs, etc.) and common customer types (HCPs, patients, payers, etc.)
Flexible in adapting to changing priorities and able to handle several tasks at one time while exercising strong judgment and attention to detail
Excellent communication and organizational skills, and ability to follow‑through and meet deadlines
Proficient with computer applications and software, including MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Docs, Slack, Box and contract lifecycle management systems
Knowledge of operations of a legal department and legal terminology
Willingness to learn and assume new responsibilities over time
The starting base pay range for this position is $159,300.00 - $178,164.00. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee's geographic location.
