Electrical Designer
Job Description This role involves performing drafting and designing tasks on substation projects for solar and wind farms using AutoCAD, Inventor 3D, and AutoCAD 2D. The projects primarily focus on infrastructure for the energy industry, including new substations for solar and wind farms. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to the growing battery storage and transformer services.
Responsibilities
Perform physical 3D design using Inventor, including creating drawing sets, layout plans, and elevation cut sections.
Create physical 2D layouts and tables in AutoCAD and conduct weight checks for steel materials.
Communicate tactfully and professionally with clients and collaborate with internal designers, engineers, and project managers.
Engage in direct communication with civil vendors via phone and email.
Participate in a contract-to-hire long-term opportunity, with a focus on learning beyond redlining and developing design skills.
Essential Skills
1 year of recent experience with Inventor in a mechanical or electrical discipline or 1 year of recent AutoCAD experience in a professional setting.
Willingness to train on Inventor.
Interest in substation design.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Knowledge of substations, power delivery, solar, wind, renewables, and battery storage.
Experience with 3D and 2D design.
Familiarity with iLogic and electrical design schematics.
Drafting or design degree preferred.
Proficiency in Microstation, Civil 3D, and Inventor is a plus.
Work Environment The role requires onsite presence in Lakeville during the training period, with potential for hybrid or remote work if the candidate is fully prepared to integrate into the team.
