Organization Overview The Native Arts and Cultures Foundation (NACF) is a Native‑led national organization dedicated to promoting the revitalization, appreciation, and perpetuation of indigenous arts and cultures. Its mission is to advance equity and cultural knowledge, focusing on the power of arts and collaboration to strengthen Native communities and promote positive social change with American Indians, Native Hawaiians, and Alaska Native people in the United States. NACF supports Native artists, culture bearers, and projects focused on environmental, cultural, and social change, providing financial resources, artist training, professional development, promotion, and project management.

Role Summary As a strategic leader, you will report directly to the CEO, partner with InnoNative Consulting, and lead NACF’s Advancement program beyond grants. You will shape long‑term fundraising strategies, cultivate major gifts, expand the donor base, and guide the Advancement team.

Core Responsibilities

Lead major gifts program: qualify, cultivate, solicit, upgrade, steward, and recognize major donors; develop multi‑year engagement strategies.

Manage and utilize a moves‑management system to refresh prospect pipelines and use analytics to guide goal setting.

Lead the Advancement Team, supporting the grants manager, operations manager, and outreach manager in major gifts, appeals, and proposals.

Fundraising & Donor Engagement

Manage a portfolio of major and planned‑gift prospects, securing gifts ranging from $10K to $100K+.

Collaborate with the CEO on donor portfolios and engagement of board leaders and major donors.

Ensure donors receive high‑quality interactions, consistent recognition, stewardship, and impact reporting.

Produce monthly reports for the CEO on donor metrics and performance.

Qualifications and Attributes Any skills gained through education, work experience (including the military), volunteer, academic, or life experience that are relevant for this position are considered.

5+ years of progressive development, fundraising, or philanthropy experience, including major gifts over $50,000.

Experience supervising direct reports or teams.

Proven track record of meeting revenue goals.

Demonstrated success in relationship‑building strategies and execution.

Familiarity with CRM databases and Microsoft Office.

Knowledge of Native peoples and tribes (cultural competence).

Arts and culture background preferred.

Excellent written, verbal, and executive presentation skills.

Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.

Ethical judgment, integrity, and stakeholder relationship building.

Work Environment This position is based in Portland, OR, with a hybrid schedule: three onsite days and two remote days (Mondays & Fridays). Occasional national travel and frequent Pacific Northwest travel required.

Compensation & Benefits Salary: $115,000–$125,000 per year, based on experience.

Annual $800 Wellness Fund.

Position Type & Hours Full‑time (40 hours/week) exempt. Days and hours generally Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am–5:30 pm; Friday 8:00 am–12:00 pm, with optional remote on Mondays and Fridays. Occasional evening hours and weekend work may be required.
