We are seeking a
Substation Electrical Designer
for our client on a direct hire basis.
will help to design critical high‑voltage substations nationwide.
This is a hybrid opportunity based out of Boston, MA.
Job Requirements
Develop electrical design documents including single‑line diagrams, panel schedules, plans, and details.
Produce symbols, legends, equipment specifications, and technical notes.
Support schematic design, design development, and construction‑level documents.
Coordinate drawing packages with civil, structural, mechanical, and other disciplines.
Assist engineers with power studies and quality assurance across deliverables.
Ensure designs meet NEC, IEEE, NESC, NFPA, and other applicable codes and standards.
Qualifications
7-10 years of electrical design experience within substations, distribution, or related fields.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
Strong understanding of power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or MicroStation (2D and 3D).
Experience physically laying down a substation and changing bays.
Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE, NEC, NFPA, ISA, and NESC codes.
Experience with PLC/HMI or SCADA systems, preferred.
EIT or PE license, preferred.
