Tokio Marine Highland is seeking a

Senior Fine Art UW/Business Development

to join our expanding Fine Art division.

This is a senior, market-facing role designed for an experienced underwriter who combines

strong technical expertise

with a

commercial, relationship-driven mindset , with clear responsibility for broker relationship development, market engagement, and growth execution. The position plays a key role in both underwriting performance and the continued growth and visibility of our Fine Art portfolio.

Location:

Preferred: New York, NY (remote role)

Also open to: Chicago, IL (hybrid, 2–3 days/week in office)

Exceptional candidates in other U.S. locations may be considered on a remote basis

Key Responsibilities

Build, manage, and expand broker and agent relationships, serving as a trusted underwriting and strategic partner, with senior relationship ownership for assigned brokers.

Identify and execute on growth opportunities, aligned with portfolio strategy, including targeted expansion, distribution development, and cross‑selling initiatives.

Represent the Fine Art division in broker meetings, client engagements, business development discussions, and industry events, as a visible and credible market representative.

Contribute market insight, including trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging risks.

Underwrite, price, and manage a portfolio of Fine Art risks in alignment with underwriting strategy and risk appetite.

Maintain disciplined portfolio management, ensuring profitability and quality across new and renewal business.

Qualifications

5+ years of underwriting experience in Fine Art, Inland Marine, specialty property, or related lines.

Demonstrated success managing a book of business with sound underwriting judgment.

Demonstrated ability to build and expand broker relationships that drive new business and portfolio growth.

Strong communication, analytical, and relationship management skills.

Established industry network within Fine Art and/or insurance markets preferred.

Willingness to travel as required to support broker engagement and market development.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and underwriting systems.

Active P&C license or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe.

What Success Looks Like Within the first 12–24 months, the successful candidate will:

Build and grow a profitable, well-balanced Fine Art portfolio aligned with company strategy.

Strengthen existing broker partnerships while developing new, high‑quality relationships.

Establish a credible and visible presence in the Fine Art insurance market.

Demonstrate consistent underwriting discipline alongside strong commercial judgment.

Contribute meaningfully to the division’s growth, reputation, and long‑term success.

Additional Job Details The pay range for this role is $117,800 - $155,000. This range reflects a good faith estimate of pay at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, knowledge, education, and internal pay equity.
