Director of Development (Fractional)
for a nationally recognized, mission-driven nonprofit organization advancing research, education, and patient advocacy within the healthcare sector. This is a
remote, part-time contractual position (10–12 hours/week)
with occasional travel as needed.
POSITION OVERVIEW The Director of Development will provide strategic fundraising leadership to strengthen and expand a growing national nonprofit’s revenue streams. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role will design and guide a comprehensive development strategy with a focus on corporate partnerships, major gifts, and grant funding. RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to diversify and grow revenue
Cultivate and secure corporate partnerships, sponsorships, major gifts, and grant funding
Conduct prospect research and lead generation to identify high-impact funding opportunities
Draft compelling grant proposals, sponsorship materials, and donor communications
Advise leadership and board members on donor cultivation, stewardship, and engagement strategies
Recommend and support implementation of donor tracking systems and development best practices
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated success in nonprofit fundraising, corporate partnerships, or philanthropic strategy
Experience designing and executing multi-channel fundraising initiatives
Strong relationship-building and donor engagement skills across diverse stakeholders
Familiarity with CRM systems and remote collaboration tools
Clear, persuasive written and verbal communication skills
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS This fractional contractual role offers competitive compensation at $50 per hour, with opportunity for renewal and potential rate increase based on organizational growth and mutual agreement. The position provides a flexible 10–12 hour per week schedule in a fully remote work environment that supports autonomy and work-life balance. Occasional travel may be supported as needed.
