Traveling Superintendent - Low Voltage/Building Technology role at Aptitude: Intelligent Integration. This position requires 100% travel and involves managing Aptitude Intelligent trade partners, planning construction sequencing, and achieving project goals for timely and profitable completion. Role Summary

The Aptitude Superintendent 2 will manage and execute more complex projects related to intelligent integration. Responsibilities include managing Aptitude Intelligent trade partners, planning all construction sequencing, and meeting project goals in alignment with JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values. Key Responsibilities - Core

Lead safety culture and promote an injury-free environment through personal actions and mentoring. Manage client and project team communications and issue escalation for low voltage scopes of work. Coordinate technology design and construction efforts that meet constructability, quality, financial, and technical standards. Oversee company staff, low voltage subcontractors, suppliers, and programs (Safety, Quality, EEO) for small to large projects. Develop work plans for low voltage subcontractors and self-performed work. Coordinate care, custody, and control of assigned low voltage scope of work. Create, manage, modify, and implement the project schedule in collaboration with the Aptitude Project Manager. Track and monitor project budget and costs using project management systems and data from the project manager. Communicate key project information to owners, design teams, governing authorities, subcontractors, suppliers, and other departments. Update drawings, logs, diaries, and inspection notebooks; record unit costs for weekly reports and complete daily/weekly dashboards. Evaluate progress on self-perform work and adjust as needed. Manage material and equipment needs for the project. Assist in selecting formwork, tools, and equipment for low voltage systems installation. Manage timecard approval to ensure accurate hours and cost codes. Coordinate with all trades to ensure conduit, pathway, and back-box infrastructure is installed before cabling and device installation. Ensure quality compliance through specifications, QA/QC, and external resources. Support project closeouts by supervising pre-punch activities and coordinating with owner, architect, and authorities. Participate in new project pursuits and project pre-plans; monitor and adjust throughout the project lifecycle. Partner with leadership to establish local workforce for the project and with project management to identify schedule and cost changes. Participate in project review meetings, including monthly reviews, and understand owner/subcontractor contracts. Lead and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion in JE Dunn. APTITUDE SUPERINTENDENT 2 Manage fairly complex projects from start to finish. Oversee management, scheduling, production, quality, and safety on the project. Identify, understand, and actively manage project risks for their scopes of work. Use experience and knowledge to identify problems and propose solutions for the team’s review. Participate in project pursuits and negotiations with owners/architects for project changes. Engage trade partners as needed to execute scopes of work. Apply knowledge of all low voltage systems connections to day-to-day deliverables. Configure/program project software for testing and troubleshooting as needed. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to perform work accurately and completely in a timely manner. Thorough understanding of low voltage technology systems (e.g., structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, fire alarm, AV, building automation, nurse call, RTLS, phone systems, network electronics). Ability to work across multiple vertical markets and understand low voltage system connections. Ability to configure and program project-to-project software for testing and troubleshooting. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) – Intermediate. Ability to conduct effective presentations and proficiency in MS Office – Intermediate. Understanding of construction management fundamentals and project processes supporting successful project completion. Proficiency in JE Dunn construction technology and Lean principles. Knowledge of self-perform and labor productivity; ability to manage budgets and profitability. Knowledge of Div 8/23/25/27/28 low voltage systems – Intermediate. Ability to build relationships and collaborate within teams; basic understanding of blueprints; ability to interpret document changes and impact on schedules. Ability to work with diverse teams and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders. Education

High School Diploma or GED (Required) Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (Preferred) Relevant experience considered in lieu of degree Experience

5+ years construction experience (Required) 5+ years experience in Division 8/23/25/27/28 related systems (Required) 3+ years field supervision experience (Required) 5+ years experience managing projects (Preferred) Working Environment

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds May require travel and/or relocation Exposure to extreme conditions (hot or cold) possible Willingness to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs Frequent activity: standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching above shoulder, pushing, pulling Occasional activity: sitting, viewing computer screen Benefits Information
